A Workshop by British Storyteller Craig Jenkins

Join international storyteller, Craig Jenkins for a 6-hour workshop exploring the techniques needed to develop simple stories into fresh and engaging performance pieces. Using well-known world folk and fairy tales, Craig will show you how to interpret these classic stories in new and innovative ways, by adding songs, music, humour, movement and characterisation, while still retaining the essence of the original tale.

The workshop will offer participants specific guidance and training in how to develop stories in their own unique way. It will address important issues of perspective, narrative voice, language and emotion, and demonstrate how subtle changes enable storytellers to explore the many different (and alternative) meanings within stories that we all know well.

Craig Jenkins is a charismatic and dynamic storyteller from London who is internationally renowned for his fresh retelling of classic stories. He has performed and run workshops across the world. It should be a folktale style story, with just a couple of characters and it should only take 2-3 three minutes to tell. Here are links to some suitable stories.
