Mabel Lee has been a professional storyteller since 2000. Telling stories has always been her passion; her love for the spoken word started in her teenage years when she acted on stage and later performed with a local drama group for numerous productions. She has a Speech and Drama Teaching Diploma from Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London) and a Diploma in Counselling from Edith Cowan University (Australia).

As a primary school teacher, she used stories to teach language, social studies and moral education. As a principal in a preschool for 18 years, she used storytelling as a vehicle to teach English literacy and oral communication and to educate the children on the diversity of Asian culture, values and character building.

Mabel enjoys telling stories to young and old. She also conducts workshops for primary and secondary students, college students, preschool teachers and more recently for seniors as well. A founding member of the Storytelling Association Singapore, she has held executive posts for four terms. She has told stories at the Asian Civilisations Museum, the National Gallery and the Singapore International Storytelling Festival as well as at the annual 398.2 Storytelling Festival. She also participated in the Sakal Times International Storytelling Festival in India; in Pune (2018) and Chennai (2019), bringing stories to children and conducting workshops for the teachers.
