Improv for Storytellers Workshop
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Improv, or improvisation, is an art form that’s gaining popularity onscreen, from TV shows such as Whose Line Is It Anyway? and Saturday Night Live stars like Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. Now, The Improv Company is proud to bring our very own Improv for Storytellers workshop to the Storytelling Association (Singapore). Learn the basics of improvisation and try your hand at making stories up on-the-spot without any prior preparation! We’ll cover content like basic story structure, techniques to conjure compelling and complex characters/ personas in an instant, as well as how to use your body/physicality in effective storytelling. Most importantly though, through practical games and exercises, you will also experience the fundamentals of the improvisational mindset and how it will allow you to stay present and unfazed under pressure, to find connections between ideas and people in the moment, and to rapidly and creatively adapt to unexpected situations. And of course, you can definitely expect to have lots of crazy fun along the way!
